Thirty years ago on January 15, 1991, Governor Richards’ Inauguration took place with a march down the Congress Avenue bridge to the Texas Capitol. KEYE TV’s John-Carlos Estrada featured the day in his Turning Back Time segment. Ann Richards’ legacy lives on through the students at the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders, with eight graduating classes earning over $78 million in merit-based scholarships.
