The Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders seeks a qualified principal to lead the all-girls public school serving grades 6-12 for the Austin Independent School District.
Today, more than 900 students represent a student body that reflects Austin’s diverse community. Each Ann Richards Star receives a world-class education thanks to a public-private partnership between the Austin Independent School District, and the Dallas-based Young Women’s Preparatory Network (YWPN), and the Ann Richards School Foundation.
At the Ann Richards School, the mission is to ensure that students are not only admitted to college, but are also equipped to graduate from the college of their choice.
The Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders dedicates itself to prepare young women to attend and graduate from college, commit to a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle, lead with courage and compassion, and solve problems creatively and ethically in support of our global community.

Middle School/High School Special Education Teacher
This position requires the ability to apply knowledge of current education and instructional theories, methodologies, techniques, principles, and subject matter as related to the teaching of Middle School and High School Special Education. Candidates must have an understanding of standards-based grading, and project-based learning approaches to instruction and assessment. Further, the candidate must possess knowledge of state, local, and federal laws and regulations related to special education. Candidate must have an understanding of differentiating instruction, writing Individual Education Plans, prepare for coordinating Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee Meetings, and communicate effectively with parents. Candidate must have an understanding of child and adolescent development and have the skills to manage student behavior. Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively using a variety of media, work with others as a team, organize and maintain records, manage time and resources effectively and efficiently, and evaluate performance and provide constructive feedback. This position requires a strong knowledge of Internet and web-related technology and a variety of technology applications and platforms and have the ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications. Candidate must be able to support students with computer set-up, navigation, and technology issues.

On August 27, 2007 the school welcomed its first 6th and 7th grade classes, adding one grade level each academic year until all grades were represented in the fall of 2012. Spanish Language Teacher – Part-time (.67 time)
This position requires the ability to apply knowledge of current education and instructional theories, methodologies, techniques, principles, and subject matter as related to the teaching of Spanish to native, legacy, and non-native speakers. Candidate would ideally be versed in assessing for proficiency and be familiar with the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) can-do statements as markers for proficiency, standards-based grading, and project-based learning approaches to instruction and assessment. Further, the candidate must possess knowledge of state, local, and federal laws and regulations affecting the lives and education of students. Candidate must have an understanding of child and adolescent development and have the skills to manage student behavior. Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively using a variety of media, work with others as a team, organize and maintain records, manage time and resources effectively and efficiently, and evaluate performance and provide constructive feedback. This position requires a strong knowledge of Internet and web-related technology and a variety of technology applications and platforms and have the ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications.
