Ms. Lucero’s Geoscience class had a special guest speaker via Zoom this week. PhD candidate Julia Cisneros joined our Stars for a presentation about her research on dunes and sediment transport. The presentation was part of the outreach program from the University of Texas – Jackson School of Geosciences in an effort to recruit more females in the geosciences field. Ms. Cisneros shared about her opportunities working on the Amazon River and how connecting with the GeoLatinas helped her academic pursuits. Our Stars really enjoyed connecting with Ms. Cisneros via Zoom.
