Ann Richards School Hosts RFK Human Rights – Speak Truth to Power Conference

Earlier this summer, the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders hosted the RFK Human Rights – Speak Truth to Power – Human Rights Education conference. The Human Rights Education Summer Institute provided educators and students a way to learn more about human rights education through the arts.

The program featured an interactive film workshop led by Austin Based ConnectHer: “Inspiring Global Change Through Women’s Stories and Projects,” a human-rights-themed art tour of the Blanton Museum of Art, and a special keynote from Ann Richards School Foundation Board member Jehmu Greene, a news commentator and Evangelist for Good.

The two-day session brought narratives and strategies for connecting and aligning Sustainable Development Goals and Human Rights in the classroom and community to our local educators, students, and community leaders.
