7th-Grade Stars Create Mini Golf Course

How about a round of miniature golf at school? Sounds fun, right? Ms. Blackburn’s 7th-grade STEM students combined creativity with their MakerSpace skills to build an 18-hole miniature golf course.

These Stars designed, budgeted, and fabricated their unique mini golf hole that featured unique Texas or Austin themes. Some fun mini golf hole designs showcased their love for H-E-B, Whataburger, and Buc-ee’s, and the Ann Richards School mission statement of graduating from college with a Rice University mini golf hole and a University of Texas mini golf hole.

The project helped our 7th-grade Stars gain experience collaborating in groups while learning basic architectural concepts and boost their confidence with construction in the MakerSpace as they advance with the STEM curriculum that every Ann Richards School student participates in.
