Friday night was a district title sweep for the Ann Richards School volleyball teams. The 9th grade, junior varsity, and varsity volleyball teams each defeated Anderson, and the varsity squad clinched their UIL District 17-5A title. The Ann Richards Volleyball Stars closed out their regular season with a 16-1 record and ranked #10 in the 2020 Texas Girls Coaches Association Volleyball Poll. Next up, the UIL State Volleyball Tournament where they’ll play the 4th ranked team from 18-5A.
The promise of a championship started early with this senior class. In 2015 they won the 7th-grade Austin ISD middle school city championship and defended their title the next year winning the 8th-grade city championship in 2016.
