Letter from the Executive Director
Dear Friends,
The 2020-2021 school year now feels far in the past, yet it was one to remember. During challenging times, our Stars utilized opportunities to connect virtually from the safety of their homes, and we moved into our new home – a state-of-the-art facility with 21st-century learning spaces to align with the school’s innovative teaching practices.
It was also a year in which the Stars had much to celebrate. For the 97 seniors from the Class of 2022, that meant celebrating –
- – $13.8 million in merit-based scholarships
- – 90% entering college with college credit from Advanced Placement classes
- – 65% first in their family to graduate from college
- – 9 first-generation college-bound students with their college costs fully covered
In the spring, we honored our faculty and staff with the Ann Richards Legacy Award for their impact on our Stars’ lives. It was an important moment to pause and thank our teachers for carrying our Stars forward into a bright future – every year and not just the challenging ones.
Because of your financial support, the Ann Richards School Foundation continued to provide for student and faculty needs as we adapted to the challenges of educating students during COVID. With you, we advance education and empower young women from all-across Austin to ensure they have the confidence and skills to apply to, attend, and graduate from college.
We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our donors and partners who have impacted our girls.
With sincere gratitude,
Peggy Hanley, Executive Director
Ann Richards School Foundation
