Texas Orthopedics surgeons Dr. Barbara Bergin and Dr. Kelly Cline have been working with the Ann Richards School Sports Medicine program to help prepare more future female surgeons for the profession. Dr. Bergin and Dr. Cline started working with Ann Richards School teacher and Athletic Trainer Kris White to bring more hands-on opportunities to the classroom. The Sports Medicine Program at the Ann Richards School is the largest in Austin ISD, with three courses offered to help students gain experience starting in 9th grade. Local CBS affiliate KEYE and the Austin American-Statesman joined the doctors to cover the lesson with links to the stories below.
