The Ann Richards School Library hosted the Battle of the Books for the third consecutive year. This year, sixteen schools participated from Austin ISD, Hays Consolidated ISD, and Pflugerville ISD.
Participants from each team read ten books from different genres and participated in trivia-style games to test their memory. The festivities also included prizes, raffles, food, and fun for all the teams.
New this year, the Stars hosted the first-ever middle school version of the Battle of the Books with seven teams representing Austin ISD schools.
The Stars were very successful with the middle school team taking the inaugural crown with first place, and the high school team just missed the podium, placing fourth out of sixteen teams.
Congratulations to the Stars and all the Battle of the Books teams that participated. Special thank you to Austin ISD Board Trustees Andrew Gonzales and Fernando Lucas de Urioste for joining in and helping out with the Battle of the Books fun!
