November 25, 2021, will be known in the City of Austin as The Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders Marching Stars Day. Mayor Steve Adler proclaimed at Austin City Hall that Thanksgiving 2021 is named in honor of the Marching Stars as they participate in the 2021 Macy’s Parade. The Marching Stars are the only all-female marching band ever invited to the Macy’s Parade and will be the only band marching from Texas in 2021. The Marching Stars joined Austin City Councilmembers Ann Kitchen and Kathy Tovo for the proclamation. Texas House Representative Donna Howard met with the Marching Stars before the proclamation to celebrate the occasion.
