Our junior and senior Stars were treated to a special visit from local author Sarah Bird. Ms. Bird shared about her research path to writing her recent novel Daughter of a Daughter of a Queen, based on the real historical figure, Cathy Williams, a formerly enslaved person and the only woman to ever serve with the legendary Buffalo Soldiers. She left our Stars with some words of inspiration: “Never accept limitations an unjust world might try to put upon you.”
