Junior Internship Week Opens Doors for the Class of 2027

All 93 juniors from the Ann Richards School Class of 2027 spent a week of the school year stepping into workplaces across Austin as part of Junior Internship Week, one of the school’s most impactful learning experiences. Our Star students worked at 42 internship sites with organizations and businesses representing a wide range of STEM careers and industries.

Throughout the week, Stars contributed to real projects, collaborated with professionals, and experienced what daily life looks like in careers connected to their interests and pathways. From hospitals and architecture firms to engineering companies, marketing agencies, veterinary clinics, and community organizations, students had the opportunity to explore future possibilities while gaining confidence in professional settings.

For many students, internship week is transformational. The experience helps Stars better understand their strengths, interests, and future career possibilities while giving them the confidence to see themselves in industries where women have historically been underrepresented. It also helps students make more informed decisions as they prepare for college and future careers.

Programs like Junior Internship Week are possible because of the continued support of the Ann Richards School Foundation and our community of donors and partners. Investments in the Foundation help provide meaningful opportunities that connect classroom learning to real-world experiences, opening doors for our Stars to grow as leaders, innovators, and changemakers. Every internship placement, professional connection, and hands-on experience helps prepare students to pursue bold futures with confidence.
