Ann Richards School Junior is Named EngineerGirl Ambassador

Class of 2023 junior Josie B. was one of 24 students from across the country to be named an EngineerGirl Ambassador for the 2021-22 school year. Josie wants to study aerospace engineering and hopes to take what she learned during her time from middle school with the Cities in Space Competition, and share her passion with girls in her community. Part of being an EngineerGirl Ambassador involves designing, developing, and implementing a project in her local community that will encourage younger girls to think about engineering and engineering careers and give them practical experience in engineering design. Josie’s project utilizes the Kerbal Space Program to learn about the different scientific programs involved in a space mission – aerospace design, scientific experiments, and directing a space program. Josie hopes to, “have girls consider a career in engineering… and what it looks like to specialize in a field like Astronautical or Aerospace engineering.”
