10th-Grade Engineering Stars Create How-To Guide for Bridge Building

Mr. Boehme’s 10th-grade engineering students created a ‘how-to’ guide for building a bridge to test their design and construction skills for their end-of-year project. The parameters involved constructing a bridge that could hold over 250 pounds and span across 6 feet and only use 40 pieces of 1-inch by 2-inch wood that were 4 feet long. Testing the structure involved rolling a wheelbarrow filled with weights. The strongest bridge was the pink strawberry bridge that used only glue to hold it together. Impressive!
