For 10 years, students at the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders have demonstrated leadership, service, a commitment to a healthy lifestyle and the determination to attend and graduate from college.
Our 10 Years of Stars video shares a historical look-back at how the Ann Richards School was created in 2007 to help economically disadvantaged girls become college-ready leaders.
Thanks to seed funding from the Young Women’s Preparatory Network and a public-private partnership with Austin ISD, 10 years later the Ann Richards School has much to celebrate:
– 326 graduates from 5 graduating classes
– 100% graduated from high school and were accepted to four-year colleges and universities
– Over $39 million in merit-based scholarships
– 89% of graduates persist in college
