Meet Ivri and Mark, donors and parents of an Ann Richards School alumna.
Why did you include the Ann Richards School Foundation in your estate plan?
“Seeing what Maya has accomplished and how she’s thrived, [we] really feel that the Ann Richards School made a tangible difference in the young woman she’s become. There are so many girls out there who can make that transformation, too, but it takes a school like this to do it.
I feel pride knowing that we’ve left this bequest. Every time I drive by, I really feel like that’s my school…a sense of ownership.”
What do you hope your gift will accomplish?
“Making a legacy gift is so simple, and it doesn’t even affect our living right now. A bequest of life insurance or part of a 401K only affects the future of the organization you’re giving to.
Knowing there’s a financial stability that will go on – for 10 and 15 and 20 years – is satisfying. There’s always going to be a need for a school like the Ann Richards School. It’s nice to know at our age that we’re doing something that will keep the ball rolling.”
