Summer Camps and Programs
The Ann Richards School is dedicated to providing summer programs that help girls learn, stay active, and have fun. We understand that the summer months can fill quickly with trips and other obligations, but we encourage each Ann Richards School girl to include at least one summer enrichment program into her plans.
Students who engage in summer programs are SMARTER, HEALTHIER, and SAFER!
- On average, students lose approximately 2.6 months of grade level equivalency in mathematical computation skills over the summer months.
- Children gain weight three times faster during the summer months, gaining as much during the summer as they do during the entire school year, even though summer is three times shorter.
- Out of school time is a dangerous time for unsupervised children and teens. Uninvolved students are more likely to participate in high-risk behaviors, receive poor grades, and are less likely to go to college. (National Summer Learning Association)
