The ARS soccer team finished the year with an overall record of 8-12-2 and 6-6-1 in district landing the Stars in 5th place out of 10 teams.
Several Stars soccer players were selected for all-district teams: Ashley Thomas – 1st Team, Eliza Martin – 2nd Team, Kiky Chaparro, Sierra Melomo, and Raquel Friedman were Honorable Mention all-district.
Academic All-District included: Eliza Martin, Kiky Chaparro, Emmaline Jeansonne, Stephanie Perez, Erin Simons, Annalise Irby, Lucia Hruby, Mariel Pineda, Carmen Whitten, Ashley Thomas, Alexis Segura, Raquel Friedman, and Julie Tapia.
Highlights from the year include wins over 6A schools Akins and Del Valle, ties against McCallum (1-1) and LBJ(0-0), and a hat trick (3 goals) for freshman Raquel Friedman against Eastside Memorial. Stars goalkeeper Sierra Melomo also posted 7 shutouts on the year.
Raquel Friedman was the leading scorer on the team with 5 goals and 11 girls on the team scored at least one goal during the season.? Seniors were Eliza Martin, Erin Simons, Stephanie Perez, and Annalise Irby and captains were Eliza Martin and Kiky Chaparro.
