Open House Planned for Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders

Austin School District officials announced today at an Open House will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, January 27 in the cafeteria of the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders, located at Porter Middle School, 2206 Prather Lane. The Open House will provide prospective students and parents with an opportunity to meet the principal, ask questions, receive assistance on student application letters and tour the new school, due to open in the fall.

The deadline for application to attend the school is February 9. Application forms should be available from every AISD elementary school and middle school counselor and can be downloaded from the AISD website, www.austinisd.org. They are also available at www.annrichardsschool.org.

The school will open in August 2007 with grades 6 and 7, serving 115 girls in each grade. The district will provide transportation for students.
