Pennies for Patients 2012

Brendon Kepner | February 16, 2012

From our Student Council President, Alexis, 9th grader

Hello everyone,

Since 1994, millions of dollars have been raised in pennies and other spare change by more than 10 million elementary, middle and high school students throughout the country. The funds, collected during a three-week period, benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, an organization started to help fund research for a cure for Leukemia and Lymphoma.

We, as a school, have a unique way to participate in this fund-raiser. Every year, our teachers volunteer to perform an act or daring task.  Students contribute their donations to the teacher acts that they want to see performed. The top eight teacher acts that accrue the most money will perform in front of the student body at a special assembly.

Pennies for Patients drive runs from Monday (February 13) and ends Friday (February 24).

This year we have created a site for you to donate online and ask your daughter which teacher act to contribute. We are excited to see how much we can raise this year for such an incredible cause, and I hope you all are too.
