ARS Student Leads Fundraising in Cure Search Walk
Sarah Walker | October 09, 2012
The 2012 Austin CureSearch Walk was a great success! Despite the rainy weather, and the fact that we couldn't actually walk because of it, more than 300 people came out for the ceremony that honors local children who are fighting cancer. The event raised over $72,000 for childhood cancer research, and Ann Richards seventh grader Georgia M. was named the second-highest individual fundraiser. The Stars team included Coach Brown, Coach Mason-Murphy, Ms. Dicuffa, Mrs. Turner, and students Georgia M., Emmaline J., and Dana N. and their families. Everyone enjoyed the food and activities, and several of the adults registered as bone marrow donors. It was a great way to end September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Thanks for your support, and we'll see you next year!
