Ann Richards School Foundation Appoints Jennifer Long New Executive Director

Jennifer Long will serve as the Executive Director of the Ann Richards School Foundation (the Foundation), an Austin, Texas-based 501(c)(3) organization. The Foundation secures sustainable resources and builds effective partnerships to advance the mission of the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders including promoting and celebrating the success of its students and alumnae. Created through a unique public-private partnership with the Austin Independent School District, the Ann Richards School Foundation provides support for enrichment programming, including professional development for teachers, summer camps for students, college visits and advisement, and other extracurricular educational field trips.

In her role as the Executive Director, Jennifer provides leadership, direction and vision for the Foundation, identifying private funding and strategic partnerships that will support the goals of educating Ann Richards School graduates for success in college, building their careers, serving their communities and, ultimately, improving lives in the greater global society.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Jennifer spent more than a decade with the LIVESTRONG Foundation during its times of greatest growth and challenge. After a series of promotions, Jennifer most recently was LIVESTRONG’s Director of Marketing where she led marketing strategy and operations to support LIVESTRONG’s mission-related and fundraising initiatives as part of the organization’s leadership team. Over the course of her career at LIVESTRONG, she held a number of marketing and communications roles including media relations, message architecture and brand management working with national and international partners and supporters.

Jennifer was formerly a member of the marketing team at the American Heart Association’s Texas Affiliate and spent four years working in public relations and communications for Susan G. Komen international headquarters in Dallas, Texas. Her experience also includes both agency and client-side advertising for Fortune 500 corporations.

Jennifer holds a B.S. in Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin. She is currently the Board President for the Austin-based non-profit Little Helping Hands and is the Chair of the Parent Advisory Council at her daughter’s non-profit preschool, Mainspring Schools. Jennifer lives in Austin with her husband, Matthew, and their two daughters, Larkin and Layne.
